You're eligible with OwnHome if you're buying in OwnHome's service area, have enough savings to cover your upfront payments plus government fees and taxes, are a professional with a steady income, and you're buying an established property (not off-the-plan or vacant land).
As part of your application we'll also request standard financial and personal information in order to make an assessment.
Our mission is to help millions of Australians become homeowners, which means we need to rethink the pathway to homeownership. With OwnHome, you don’t need to save thousands of dollars upfront or have a helping hand from the Bank of Mum and Dad.
How do we do it?
Well, behind the scenes, we’re supported by investors who share in the mission and a technology team that have automated much of the manual work—so we’re set up to keep costs low.
The bottom line? Over short time frames, house valuations have always gone up and down—sometimes quite a lot. Over long time frames in Australia, say 10 or 20 years, house valuations have gone up consistently. The Australian national growth rate for the past 30 years is 5.4%p.a. according to CoreLogic.
So, even in markets where house prices stay flat or fall, looking over the long run, there can also be a cost of doing nothing.
And while we don’t have a crystal ball, we’re confident that in future, more Aussies than ever before will need a smart and modern pathway to homeownership.
